In my recent post, Every day I'm decluttering, I began looking at how to start having a clearout..
It has some great tips on how to break down what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming task into smaller, manageable groups.
After reading it, and deciding to have a go for yourself, you should now have separate piles of clothing (or bags or shoes). Those piles are..
✔️ UNWORN & UNUSED - items you've literally never worn or used
✔️ DON'T LIKE - you've used it but really don't like it now
✔️ STILL LIKE - you've used it but you want to keep it
✔️ UNDECIDED - you've used it but you don't know how you feel about it
So, what next..?
We are going to look at what you want to KEEP and what is to GO.
This can be the hardest part of a clearout, and why it's usually hard to get started, so let's start with the things you DON'T LIKE.. 😕. I think this is the easiest group to start with as you don't want these things anymore. These can be the first things for the GO pile 👏
Now let's look at the rest.. 🛍️ This is where you need to find some time to try things on.
We can now whittle things down, mostly by whether they fit you or not..
👍 They fit and you still like them - Great, these are things you want to KEEP
😐 They fit but you don't like them - Time to let them GO
😊 They're too big - good time to let them GO
😢 They're too small and you don't like them - GO
🤔 They fit but you still can't decide..
🤨 They're too small, but you like them..
This is where I find things get tricky..
In my upcoming blog Should it stay or should it go, you'll find some useful tools to help you decide what to keep.. 👍
